I'm again eminded of a TV-documentary of the aging tiger-king Bagha in an Indian tiger-preserve, who is one day challenged by a younger intruder - and is mortally wounded in their fierce duel - and so retreats into the depths of the jungle never to be seen again - to die in dignity, alone. It's a metaphor for a dignified exit - but I kinda do that whenever I get into crisis mode: Retreat into the deep jungle of complete seclusion and solitude - and then wait.
