Some of the toughest moments in a story aren’t the fights — they’re what comes after. The quiet fallout. The doubt. The choices that almost get made when someone’s running on empty.
I love how this piece leans into that “desert” space where a character is alone with themselves and there’s nowhere to hide from what they believe or who they are. Stripping away the noise really does show you what’s left of a hero.
Curious — do you tend to discover who your characters are in those quieter stretches after the action, or do you go in already knowing what that walk in the desert will reveal?
I like the look inward. Getting lost used to terrify me. Now I just stop, breathe and be wherever I
am. I always find my way home after that.
That's very mature, Linda.
Loved this one 🙌🏻✨❤️
Glad you did.
Do not read if infested with religious dogma.

When you realise you survived the desert. That’s when an oasis appears 😌
Loved the metaphor, Clarita.
So I just discovered this series. Dare I ask how many years I am behind? 🫣
Hey, Dave. Not too many. I started posting in September, 2024.
Thank You... seems you might be a readers hero with the unexpected link to...
The Flight of the Condor: A Night at the Labyrinth (Kindle Edition)
You're welcome, Aaron

Thanks, man. It's a bit of both, I guess. It's like knowkng a family member or a friend. You sort of know what they would do in any given situation.
Interesting! Thanks for the reply - is there any outlining in your process? Or at this point are you discovering it as you go?
You're welcome, man. I make an outline of every strip before I start writing it, but not much more.
If I make out alive, I’ll buy you a subscription 😎😂
Cool, man. Good luck with that!
Excellent! Can’t wait to see what he will learn about himself? I always loved getting lost! 😉
Glad you like it, Vesna. Does our hero ever learn?
Of course he does! He must learn, please🥹 Otherwise…what’s the point? He might need more than one lesson or even 1000….but eventually….
The is very dark right now. I hope there is a victorious ending?
Difficult question, man.
Have you read 49 Days In Desert B by Moebius? He uses the drawing of it for his own journey of self discovery.
Nope, but Moebius was a friggin’ genius, so I'll have to check it out.
Looking within is a great idea...
Yeah. And it can also be a bit scary, so do it carefully
Really liked this. I'm not sure about wandering in the desert, but I love exploring a deserted beach, especially after a storm.
Sometimes the sea brings treasures.
Look inward or you will end up as Captain Ahab.
Not a desirable fate.

Your answer to any of your life questions can be found if you look inside…
Si true. But it's not easy.
That’s a 20th century reply !!
Ha! Well, I was born in '83, so...
