I want to believe this and I'm so attractive but I get nervous around strangers that act like they passive aggressively want to get to know me on a level I believe is too deep for most ~ but not us, Condor. Thanks for being a believer.
"Yes, I wrote about it in my newsletter. We can't just spend the rest of our lives looking at the mirror, obsessed with our aesthetic and caring about what other people think. Sometimes we should ask ourselves: who are 'the other people'? People we don't know and who know nothing about our lives."
What we condemn in others is often what we hate about ourselves. Hating ourselves, even just a little, is living in hell. Somehow, we need to accept our flaws as work in progress not as set in stone. If we accept ourselves then we can look more fairly on others. We will be better judges of what is a lack of moral integrity (fatal flaw) and what is a flaw in others that they can fix.
I know you would be a very interesting person to have a fireside chat with. I just bought your Flight of the Condor on Amazon. I'm not even a comics kinda woman. But your clarity around inner work and what the reflection means...You know it. You feel it. I've had many NDE's. Nothing with fantastical BS you see on YouTube. On my home page is a link and picture of a long format podcast with Matt Presti in November.I'd like to explain what was the other side was like, rather than disagree with you because your point was taken, and I get what you're tugging at..
L.E. Mullin, I only found you because you liked one of my 'Notes'. Your comics are incredible!!!! I hella subscribed!
Cool, Annie. Welcome!
You are correct. But, that also looks like one of those college fraternity rituals, which is why I never joined. Good luck, Condor.
Well, another form of hell, maybe?
Sartre: L'enfer c'est les autres
That's it! Sartre!
Yes. A quote from Sartre's famous novel LES JEUX SONT FAITS - the ending!
Hell is looking at your flaws and doing nothing to change them! I truly enjoyed this!
So cool. Thanks, Leo.
If hell is the mirror, then escape requires either self-acceptance or stepping out of the mirror entirely.
I think both are good options.
Thinking here of the statement about HELL that John Milton gives to Lucifer. Still true.
Thanks, LindaAnn
You’re welcome. I enjoy “visiting” you.
Hell is Amazon when you literally can’t afford to buy this book you linked to.
Well, Gwen, the book includes most of the comic strips I'm posting here in substack, so you can just read the older posts.
I’m going to do so! Thank you for the sensitive nudge in the right direction!
So true.
Thanks!

So I just sit behind my computer and hold on tight

“Who are these people” is a far more interesting question than “who am i”

That's it, Amy. This is something I need to remind myself of, from time to time.

Hey, so cool. Hope you enjoy it. I'm fascinated by NDEs, one cousin of mine had one and told me about it. I'll take a look at your podcast.
It changed everything for me.
which could be why social media can be such a dark place...
One should use it responsibly.
In the words of the late great Jim Morrison. "Break on thru to the other side"! Ahhhhh
YEAAHH
Oh yeah
Love these directors cuts!
Thanks, man.
