Crack the story open
. -
Hey,
they say classic stories repeat themselves through time. That the same story has to be told to today’s audiences in their own language. But the story has to remain the same, even if it may not look like it.
Because the knowledge hidden inside the story is as valuable now as it was 50, 500, or 5000 years ago. Because we’re still the same species, and what matters most to us, whatever that is, is the same thing that mattered when we first started telling stories.
But that whatever isn’t visible at first sight. You have to crack the story like a nut to get what’s inside.
That brings us to today’s strip, in which a medieval family crosses the forest after having seen The Mask of Zorro— no, wait, it wasn’t that story. But it isn’t too different, either.
The thing is, this story is valuable. For some reason. Maybe you know what that reason is.
Lucky you, then.

PS: There are many nuts to be cracked in this book. And there’s a giant nut coming out soon, too.

Delightful, as always 🩷
Love that - a nut to crack. Do you wonder what we'll do if all the mystery is gone?
