Haha ! I love your frankness! It’s lonely being a writer, but the good news is you are persistent and have a nice face!! :) your writing is good too!

You so need to be a guest on our poddy - perhaps that’s a good place to start? Or continue the conversation about ‘The Flight of The Condor’ ? Are you up for something like that? All of us here at StudioZer0 Arts - Beyond Survival follow you 🎈

Hey, thanks for the invitation, but podcasts are not my thing. I do enjoy them, but as a part of an audience.

Totally understand! Up until about 8 months ago, the only social media I really engaged with as an artist through StudioZer0 Arts was Facebook, mostly for arts events, festivals and community projects. Never really did the personal social media thing.

Then along came Queen of independent filmmaking (here in Perth, Western Australia) Stephanie Davis (our producer) … and suddenly here I am everywhere online 😂

Honestly though, it’s ended up being a surprisingly positive experience. We’re living through pretty wild times and it feels like the world genuinely needs more spaces for art, conversation and reflection.

What’s been surprising is connecting with artists and colleagues from across the globe, many friendships and creative connections going back 25+ years all talking about their work, process, survival and what it actually means to live an artistic life in this era.

If you ever change your mind - we are here 🙏🕊️

In the meantime we shalt continue here, in this Substack chat by chat with you 😉👍

Amazing! I recognize that alone feeling, but not. creating in a room.

well done! :)

Thanks, Clarita. I think we all can recognize loneliness somewhere in our lives.

Seven years of your life writing and drawing a single story-- it's a great idea indeed.

Seven years. This may explain why many of us heard a magnificent exhale echoing in the universe.

Congratulations! Breathe.

Oh my. Hope I didn't break any glass.

We are alone in our rooms even in a crowd. When we create a story or a strip or art of all types, we are alone in that room in our heads. We are alone more than others because that's what creation demands...requires. We create for ourselves. Sometimes people join, but we write and draw and photo for ourselves. You just happened to be one of the best.

L. E. Mullin's avatar

Yes we are, and there's a joy in that. Thanks, Michael.
